Clinical study of the improved excision of pterygium combined with the bulbar conjunctival flap transplantation on pterygium treatment

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the clinical effects about the improved excision of pterygium combined with the bulbar conjunctival flap transplantation on pterygium treatment.Methods: 35 cases(40 eyes) of primary pterygium were treated with the improved excision of pterygium combined with the bulbar conjunctival flap transplantation.All the cases were followed up for 3 to 18 months,average 12 months.Results: 39 eyes were cured.Recurrence happened in 1 eye.The recurrent rate was 2.65%.Conclusion:Excision improved pterygium combined with the bulbar conjunctival flap transplantation is a new effective method,which is not only simple and easy,but also low in recurrence rate and less in complications.
