Abstract
The optimization design of a supporting bar in a refrigerator is realized based on the FEM analysis.Firstly, four possible design models for a supporting bar are established using the CAD software Unigraphics. Then, the finite element analysis is performed on those design models by applying the software Abaqus. The distribution of the displacement and stress field is obtained. Finally, the maximum displacement and stress are compared and an optimal design is selected.Compared with the traditional product design process, this new method not only can guarantee the quality of the designed product, but also can largely shorten the development cycle and improve the design reliability.
