Abstract

Science is the correcr understanding of objective reality and the law of its development. Scientific critical criteria involve the attribures of testability and repeatability. The tests include those conducted in a laboratory and those conducted by way of human practice. By scientific spirit we mean an attitude of seeking truth from facts, of dare to pioneer and innovate. It requires that people should have the sense of scepticism, the rationality of criticism and the attitude of modesty. And it is a condition sine qua non of China's moderrizalion that Chinese citizens should deepen the commitment to the improvement of their scientific spirit.
