Abstract
Objective:To determine the contents of total flavonoids and naringin in pummelo pericarp from various species and producing areas of China, and to study the feasibility of extracting naringin from pummelo pericarp. Methods: The contents of total flavonoids were measured at 570 nm on a UV spectrophotometer. The contents of naringin were measured by the method of HPLC.Methanol extracts of samples and naringin reference substence were separated on a AichromBond-1 C18 column(4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm) using a mixture solution of CH3OH-H2O-HOAC(v∶v∶v=35∶61∶4) as mobile phase and detected by UV detector at a wavelength of 283 nm.Results: The contents of total flavonoids and naringin in Exocarpium Citri Grandis are the highest, followed by the ripe fruit like Citrus paradisi cv.Changshanhuyou.,and pummelo pericarp at least. Conclusions: With this method, extracting naringin from Exocarpium Citri Grandis is optimal, and pummelo pericarp and Citrus Paradisi cv.Changshanhuyou can also be used.
