Abstract

Xinliangyou 6380(03S/D208) is a new two-line medium indica hybrid rice combination developed by the Rice Research Institute of Nanjing Agricultural University, and it was certified and released to commercial production by the Jiangsu Provincial Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in January,2007.In the trials from 2004 to 2006,this combination showed high-yielding ability(It yielded very significantly higher than check hybrids and ranked No.1 in both the national or Jiangsu provincial yield trials and farmers' field demonstration during 2004~2006),multiple resistances(rice blast, bacterial leaf blight, sheath blight and brown planthopper, etc.),good grain quality(reaching the 3rd class of state standards of fine grain quality rice) and wide adaptability(suitable for growing in the provinces of Jiangsu,Anhui,Hubei,Hunan,Jiangxi,Henan and Fujian,etc.).The breeding procedure of its restorer line, and the applying technical points of high-yielding cultivation and hybrid seed production of Xinliangyou 6380 were also introduced in this paper.
