Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of applying misoprostol in cervical dilatation for induced abortion. Methods To study the clinical effect of misoprostol for induced abortion(with gestation of 7~11weeks).Misoprostol 0.4mg was orally taken by pregnant women at 12 hours before the operation. The cervical size, amount of blood loss, operation time, uterine contraction, and incidence of induced abortion syndrome were observed. Results The oral administration of misoprostol before operation has the effect on relaxation of cervix, promoting uterine contraction, reducing blood loss, shortening the operation time, decreasing the incidence of induced abortion syndrome and shortening the bleeding time of vagina at the follow-up period after operation. Conclusions The oral administration of misoprostol is simple, safe and effective,so it can be used as routine medication before operation of induced abortion.
