Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effects of early rehabilitation on moving function, shoulder-hand syndrome and ADL(activities of daily living). Method:The study design was a single-blind, randomized, controlled trial. Forty-nine patients with intracerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction were divided into two groups(rehabilitation group and control group). Comparisons between the two groups were matched in age, sex, stroke type and location. Rehabilitation group were treated with systematic rehabilitation training for 14 days and the control group was treated without rehabilitation therapy. The two groups were assessed by the Fugl-Meyer assessment(FMA) and modified Barthel index(MBI). Result: After treatment, the gain of scores in the rehabilitation group were obviously higher than those in the control group (P0.01). The lower incidence of shoulder-hand syndrome was found in rehabilitation group than in the control group(P0.05). Conclusion: Early rehabilitarion could improve moving function and ADL, prevent and reduce the incidence of complications such as shoulder-hand syndrome.
