Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of telmisartan on adiponectin,TNF-α and insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes complicated with hypertension. Methods 80 patients who had type 2 diabetes complicated with hypertension were randomly divided into telmisartan group and control group,40 cases in each group.Based on oral glucose-lowering agents, telmisartan was added in telmisartan group, while amlodipine was added in control group.APN,TNF-α,Bp and IRI were observed of the two groups before and after treatment. Results In all these patients, the blood pressure all decreased to 140/90 mmHg after 10 weeks of treatment, while SBP and DBP had no significant changes between the two groups(P0.05).There was no significant difference in APN,TNF-α and HOMA-IR between the two groups before treatment. The HOMA-IR in telmisartan group decreased significantly than that of control group(P0.05),while the APN was higher(P0.05)and TNF-α was lower than that of control group(P0.05).Conclusion Telmisartan can increase APN level and decrease TNF-α level in blood circulation, and improve insulin resistance significantly in patients with type 2 diabetes complicated with hypertension.
