Abstract
By typical sampling method, the species composition and species diversity index of plant community in the waterfront regions of Hangzhou were analyzed and compared. The results showed that: The plant species of the waterfront reigons of Hangzhou are rich and involve 92 families, 186 genera and 252 species. The waterfront regions of Hangzhou are divided into four types. In the different types,the species index richness(S) of the arbor layer, the shrub layer, the herb layer, and the water plant layer in the small planar waterscape are the biggest. The Shannon-Wiener(H) and the Simpson(D) have the same trend, the species index richness(S) of the arbor layer in different types of waterfront regions are similar; but the species index richness(S) of the shrub layer in the big planar waterscape are the smalles and the species index richness(S) of the herb layer and water plant layer of the big planar waterscape type are biggest.
