Abstract
Objective:To investigate the changes of super oxide dismutase (SOD) activity and malondialdehyde (MDA) content in serum of rats exposed to excess lead following the time.Methods:SOD activity in serum was measured by nitrat coloration and MDA content by TBA method. Results:Compared with control group, the activity of SOD in blood was markedly lower in low-dose group after 60 days , and 30 days in high-dose group (P 0 05). MDA level in blood of control group was significantly lower than the high-dose group after 30 days. Conclusion:During chronic lead poisoning , lead can lead to the decrease of SOD activity and the increase of MDA content as time goes by.
