Abstract

Since the beginning of the 20th century,the improvement of the traditional painting has been involved into the modernization process in China.It is universally agreed that some out-of-date conventional approaches should be replaced by the artistic resources extracted from western art.The universal adoption of the realism is an important mark of the modern reformation.This paper is based on the analysis of a humannic background which is composed of three levels:the level of visual experience,the level of acceptance basis and the level of historical artistic view.And try to find out the internal relations of the western realism and the reformation of Chinese traditional painting.
