Abstract

Objevtive To investigate the temporal rhythm of the effect of Weitongling decoction in protecting gastric muscosa. Methods The experiment was conducted at 6:00,12:00,18:00 and 24:00 in one day. 240 Kunming mice were ramdomly divided into 24 groups,10 mice in each group, 6 groups in each time point, including Wetongling decoction group,Qizhiweitong infusion group, model group and control group. Except for control group, the mice were given mezolin (64 mg/kg) by gavage, the danage index of gastric mucosa ,SOD and MDA in serum and gastric mucosa were tested. Results There was circadian rhythm in the damage of mezolin to gastric mucosa, the most severe damage happened during 9:00~15:00 (P0.05),while the most significantly protective effect of Weitongling decoction also showed in the time period (P0.01). The changes of SOD and MDA content indicated that the protective effect was related with the antioxidation. Conclusion Weitongling decoction has obvious protective effect on gastric mucosa, which can increase the activities of SOD,decrease the content of MDA and regulate the temporal rhythm.
