Abstract

Objective:To examine the relationship between the genetic polymorphisms of GSTM1,GSTT1 and the risk of cervical cancer.Methods:A hospital-based case-control study was conducted.125 cases with cervical cancer and 125 controls with hysteromyoma diagnosis by pathological in Shanxi Tumor Hospital were involved in this study.The genotypes of GSTM1 and GSTT1 were detected by multi-PCR method.Results:The frequencies of GSTM1 null genotype in cases(58.4%)was significantly higher than that in controls(43.2%);The frequencies of GSTT1 null genotype in cases was 53.6%,while in controls was 44.0%;The risk for cervical cancer in those with both GSTM1 null and GSTT1 null genotype was significantly higher than that in those with GSTM1 nonnull and GSTT1 nonnull genotype,with OR was 2.59.Conclusions:GSTM1 null genotype or both GSTM1 null and GSTT1 null genotye could increase the risk of cervical cancer.
