Abstract
Objective To study the variation law of expression of bcl 2 and p53 mRNA in neurons after reperfusion of focal cerebral ischemia in rats. Methods The technique of hybridization in situ was applied to observe the expressions of bcl 2 and p53 mRNA on different time spots(2,6,12 hours and 1,2,3,7,14 days) after reperfusion of focal cerebral ischemia ,for 1.5 hours, in rats. Results In the peripheral area of the infarction, bcl 2 mRNA positive neurons were observed 2 hours after re perfusion, peaked on day 1, decreased to normal level after day 14; p53 mRNA were detected at 6 hours, they reached their peak on day 1-2 and decreased to control level on day 7 after reperfusion. Conclusion The expressions of bcl 2 and p53 mRNA in neurons after reperfusion of cerebral ischemia were related to ischemic injury and involved in regulation of neuronal apoptosis.
