Observation on therapeutic effect of acupuncture on functional dyspepsia

Abstract

ObjectiveTo investigate characteristics and mechanisms o f acupuncture action on dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract. Methods The subjects were randomly divided into treatment group and control gro up. The treatment group were treated by acupuncture at Zusanli(ST 36), Neiguan(P C 6) as main points and the control group were treated by oral administration of cisapride. Changes of electrogastrogram before and after treatment and the ther apeutic effects were investigated and compared. ResultsThe therape utic effect of the treatment group was superior to that of the control group ( P0 05), with electrogastrogram improved. ConclusionAcupuncture has a good promoting action on gastrodynamic disturbance.
