Abstract
Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of adefovir dipivoxil combined with reduced glutathione in treatment of chronic hapaitits B patients. Methods The 52 confirmed hepatitis B patients were randomly divided into control group consisted of 20 cases and treated with conventional therapy and treatment group consited of 32 cases and treated with conventional therapy and reduced glutathione added in 5% glucose 250ml by intravenous injection, one time a day, plus adefovir dipvoxil 110mg,orally taken one time a day for a course of 4 weeks. The indicators of liver function, the activity of prothrombin(PrA),the level of HBV DNA and therapeutic effect were observed and analuysed. Results The total effective rates in the treatment group and control group were 83.0% and 53.0%,showing significantly statistical differences between the two groups(t=8.13,P0.01).Compared to the control group, the total bilirubin level in the patients of treatment group decreased, but that of the prothrombin elevated and serum HBV DNA level decreased(P0.01) and no obvious side effects were observed in both groups. Conclusion Adefovir dipivoxil in combination with reduced glutathione is effective and safe for treatment of chronic severe hepatitis B patients, whorthy of popularization.
