Puzzlement of the Phosphate Fertilizer and Compound Phosphate for Sulfur PriceEscalation Eating on Fertilizer Industry of China

Sulfur is used principally for the production of sulfuric acid in China,which is then used for the production of phosphate fertilizer and compound phosphate fertilizer,so that the fluctuation of market price for sulfur directly affects the production cost of phosphate fertilizer and compound phosphate fertilizer.The escalating sulfur price in the international market and high import price of sulfur in China since 2007 and the impacts on the phosphate fertilizer and compound phosphate fertilizer industry are analyzed,and suggestions on how to address above problems in China are proposed.
