Abstract
Based on the two-dimensional unsteady flow and nonuniform sediment mathematical model, flow movement and river bed deformation of Chongqing reach are simulated. The deposition and erosion of Chongqing reach during the Three Gorges Reservoir has been impounded are researched with the model. And a conclusion is drawn that the model is reliable and applicable;the deposition amount increases with the Three Gorges Reservoir operating;the shoals, backflow region and over bank are the main deposited area;there will be navigationobstruction in the shoals.
