Analgesic effect of puncturing different acupoints in patients with primary dysmenorrhea

Abstract

Objective:To observe the analgesic effect of puncturing different acupoints on primary dysmenorrhea.Methods:Primary dysmenorrhea patients were selected and divided into single-point group[Shiqizhui(EX-B8)] with 85 cases and multipoint group[Shiqizhui(EX-B8),Ciliao(BL32),Diji(SP8),Sanyinjiao(SP6)] with 87 cases.Before and after acupuncture,to observe the changes of pain visual analogue scale(VAS) of the two groups and to compare the differences.Results:After the treatment,the scores of VAS in both groups were lower than before the treatment,and the difference was significant(P0.01),but there was no significant difference of VAS between before and after treatment in both groups(P0.05).Conclusion:Single-point group and multi-point group can significantly reduce the pain of primary dysmenorrheal.Shiqizhui is effective point of immediate analgesia in treating the disease.
