Abstract
In this paper, it has been found that manganese(Ⅱ) can catalyze the discoloration of Xylenol orange by potassium periodate in potassium phosphate monobasic-sodium phosphate dibasic buffer medium ,while the addition of catechol can inhibit the discoloration. The inhibition mechanics and kinetic parameter were studied, and a new method for the determination of trace catechol was established by inhibition kinetic spectrophotometry . The linear ranges are 0.5~5.0 (μg/25 mL) and 6.0~11.0 (μg/25 mL,) the detection limit of the method is 12.3 ng/mL. It is applied to the determination of catechol in waste water, and the result is satisfied.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
