Abstract

[Objective] To investigate the influence of insulin resistance(IR) and hyperinsulinemia(HIS) on ultrasonocardiogram changes of cardiac damage in essential hypertension(EH) patients.[Methods] The oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)was carried out in 60 EH patients,Insulin,C peptide releasing and ultrasonocardiogram were assessed at the same time.[Results]No significant difference was found in blood glucose on every phase between HIS group and control group(P0.05),but the levels of serum insulin and C peptide in HIS group were higher than those of control group(P0.01).Insulin action index in HIS group was obviously lower than that in control group(P0.01).Cordis morphology changes and interventricular mass index, interventricular septal thickness in the two group were all significantly different(P0.05).A velocity and A/E in HIS group were obviously higher than those of control group(P0.05).[Conclusion] EH patients with HIS have IR.IR and HIS promote the genesis and development of EH left ventricular hypertrophy and the damage of EH cardiac diastolic function.
