Effect of treating the low-grade nasal septum deviation in endoscopic sinus surgery on the postoperative nasal cavity adhesion

Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore the effect of treating the low-grade nasal septum deviation in endoscopic sinus surgery on the postoperative nasal cavity adhesion.MethodsOne hundred and sixteen case with low-grade deviation of nasal septum underwent endoscopic sinus surgery were analysed.It was divided into two groups.In group 1,37 cases received endoscopic sinus surgery and deviation of nasal septum.In group 2,79 cases only received endoscopic sinus surgery.All the cases were followed up for 6-12 months and the postoperative nasal cavity adhesion of two groups were compared.ResultsThe nasal cavity adhesion of two groups occurred in 8.1%,27.8%,0 and 13.9% of cases respectively,1 month and 3 months after operation.There were significant differences of the occurrence of the nasal cavity ashesion between two groups(P0.05).ConclusionThe postoperative nasal cavity adhesion was reduced by treating the low-grade nasal septum deviation in endoscopic sinus surgery.
