Effect of Xuezhikang on the serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and blood lipid in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia

Objective To investigate the effect of Xuezhikang capsule on serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and blood lipid in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia.Methods 86 patients with type 2 diabetes combined with hyperlipidemia were included.Based on their original regimen for hypoglycemic treatment,they were randomly divided into two groups: 48 cases received the added Xuezhikang capsules(the treatment group),and 38 cases only had their original regiment(the control group).This treatment lasted 12 weeks.Results At the end of Xuezhikang treatment,the levels of triglycerides,cholesterol and serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein significantly decreased.Conclusion Xuezhikang not only has good effect of reducing hyperlipidemia,but also has anti-inflammatory effect,which has important role in the early treatment of diabetes mellitus combined with hyperlipidemia in patients.
