Abstract

Objective To evaluate the changes of corneal astigmatism after small incision surgery of non-phacoemmulsification and IOL implantation with common lens loop and iris repositor, and observe the clinical effect of the surgery. Methods Seventy-six patients (80 eyes) with cataract were divided into two groups based on the length of incision.Group A was small incision group, and group B was big incision group.Corneal astigmatism of group A and B before and after operation were measured and compared. Results Three months after the operation, the percent of naked vision better than 1.0 in group A and B were 78.6%,65.4% respectively, there was significant difference between two groups(χ2= 46.08,P0.01).In group A,the mean corneal astigmatism before operation was (0.92±0.87)D,and at 3 months after operation was (0.53 ±0.56)D,which decreased 0.39 D,and there was significant difference (u=2.267,P0.05).In group B,the mean corneal astigmatism at 3 months after operations was (0.62±0.67)D,there was significant difference between two group (u=2.016,P0.05).Conclusion After the small incision surgery, the corneal astigmatism is small, and the visual acuity is easy to recover. The surgery is safe and convenient, and easy for extensive basic hospital.
