Abstract
We selected extract of Schisandra Chinensis(ESC) as a feed additive to determin serum, heart, liver and kidney tissues total superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity, glutathione reductase(GR) activity, total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC) and malondialdehyde(MDA) levels of 35-day-old and 56-day-old broilers and researching the effect of ESC on antioxidant index of AA broilers. The single factor randomized experimental design was used. The results indicated that the diets added ESC could significantly increase T-SOD activity of serum and liver of 35-day-old broilers, and could significantly increase T-SOD activity of liver and heart of 65-day-old broilers(P 0.05).The diet added ESC could significantly decrease MDA content of serum of 35-day-old broilers(P 0.05).The diet added 0.2%ESC could significantly decrease MDA content of heart of 35-day-old broilers(P 0.05),and added 0.4%ESC could significantly decrease MDA content of liver of 56-day-old broilers(P 0.05).The results demonstrated that contrast to the control and the FLA,GR activity in serum and liver of 35-day-old broilers supplemented with ESC was significantly increased(P 0.05),and GR activity in liver and kidney of 56-day-old broilers supplemented with 0.2%ESC were significantly increased(P 0.05).The results revealed that T-AOC ability of kidney of 35-day-old broilers supplemented with 0.2% ESC and 0.4%ESC was significantly increased(P 0.05),and T-AOC ability of heart of 56-day-old broilers supplemented with ESC was significantly increased(P 0.05).
