Abstract

Objective To assess the clinical effects of deanxit combined with proton pump inhibitor( PPI) in treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease( GERD) and laryngopharyngeal symptoms, and discuss the possible therapeutic mechanism. Methods Outpatients with GERD from Aug. 2009 to May. 2012 who had the laryngopharyngeal symptoms after treatment with 12 weeks PPI and prokinetic drugs were collected. The scores of comprehensive hospital anxiety and depression scale( HADS) were evaluated, patients who the score of HADS≥9 were divided into two groups,Symptomatic treatment group was treated with deanxit plus esomeprazole and mosapride citrate, symptomatic control group was treated with esomeprazole and mosapride citrate. Patients whose score of HADS 9 were also treated with deanxit plus esomeprazole and mosapride citrate as a sympto-matic treatment group for four weeks. The efficacy of three groups by Zung Self-rating Depression Scale and Zung Self-rating Anxiety Scale score before and after treatment were observed. Results There were 63 patients whose HADS≥9,32 patients were treated with deanxit plus esomeprazole and mosapride citrate,31 patients were treated with esomeprazole and mosapride citrate, and there were 35 patients whose HADS 9. The curative effect of symptomatic treatment group was significantly higher than that of symptomatic control group, but there was no difference in curative effect between symptomatic treatment group and a symptomatic treatment group. Scores of SDS and SAS were decreased significantly after deanxit treatment in symptomatic treatment group. Conclusion Deanxit combined PPI may significantly improve the psychiatric and somatic symptom of GERD patients who had laryngopharyngeal symptoms.
