EFFECT ANALYSIS OF THE HEROIN ADDICTS WITH METHADONE MAINTENANCE TREATMENT IN EXPERIMENTAL UNITS OF WUZHONG IN NINGXIA

[Objective]To evaluate effect of heroin addicts with methadone maintenance treatment in experimental units in Wuzhong and to provide scientific evidence for intervention measures. [Methods] Simple random sampling method was used to select 100 patients as subjects and face to face questionnaires was carried out to survey subjects. [Results] The proportion of the subjects with methadone maintenance treatment who had drug abuse through injecting declined from 42% to 22% in the last month (χ2 = 9.191, P﹤0.01). The crimes caused by drug abuse reduced from 32% to 11% last 3 months (χ2 = 13.065, P﹤ 0.01). The proportion of self-affirmation was increased from 46% to 82% (χ2 = 28.40, P﹤0.01) All the subjects expressed the satisfaction about the therapeutic efficacy of the methadone maintenance treatment. [Conclusion] The methadone maintenance treatment ambulatorium towards drug users could be a integrated service in various forms and an effective prevention for the spread of AIDS.
