Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic value of multi-slice spiral CT urography after insuffcient opacity of ureter during IVU in ureter obstruction diseases.Methods:Multi-slice spiral CT urography(MSCTU) were performed in 18 patients with ureter obstruction diseases instantly at 30 min of IVU examination when opacity of ureter was insuffcient. The underlying diseases of ureter obstruction, which included 10 cases of ureteral calculi(8 cases complicating with inflammatory pipe wall proliferation,1 case with inflammation polyp and 1 case with inflammation polyp and the malformation of the pyeloureteral duplication in opposite side),2 cases of inflammation polyp and stricture,2 cases of per-ureteral endometriosis,2 cases of primary fibroepithelial polyp and 2 cases of ureter epidermis papilliform tumor, were confirmed by operation and histopathology.Post-processing including multiple plane reconstruction(MPR),volume rendering(VR) and maximum intensity projection(MIP)were carried out at the workstation(AW42 edition).Imaging findings were retrospectively analyzed. Results:High quality images of MSCTU were obtained in all the 18 patients.Unilateral obstruction were demonstrated.Position and cause of the obstruction were revealed. Conclusion:MSCTU immediately after insufficient IVU is feasibility and helpful in exterminating the location and the underlying disease of the ureter obstruction, which is a cost-effective compensation for insufficient IVU.
