Investigation on the Vegetation of Sanya Luhuitou Park of Hainan Province after Closing Hillsides to Facilitate Afforestation

An investigation was conducted to the vegetation of Sanya Luhuitou Park of Hainan Province. The results showed that: since closing hillsides to facilitate afforestation in 1986, the original vegetation in the park and the rapidly-growing fine tree varieties which were supplementarily planted in it afterwards have been well protected. These plants promoted and depended on each other, thus rejuvenate the vegetation of the park from a pitiful sight with stumps and brambles all over the hill, and gradually developed a tropical mingled monsoon forest community.
