Abstract

Objective To compare the effect of active exercise, continual passive motion(CPM),and comprehensive exercises on the recovery in patients with total knee arthroplasty.Method Sixty patiens with total knee arthroplasty were divided into three groups. The range of motion of knees was assessed and compared at the end of 3 days,7 days and 10 days after the operation.Result Compared with CPM,the functional recovery of knees were better in patients with active exercise and comprehensive exercises. There was no significant difference between the patients with active exercise and patients with comprehensive exercise. Conclusion Active exercise is proved to be an economic and effective means for postoperative recovery in patiens with total knee arthroplasty.
