Abstract
The known Inner Mongolia tenebrionid beetles (Coleoptera:Tenebrionidae) are composed of 3 subfamilies, 18 tribes,44 genera and 158 species up to now. According to these updated data, their characters on the fauna and zonal distribution are researched. Judging from the faunal composition, the palaearctic species are absolutely dominant, with the species from Inner Mongol- Xinjiang and northern China as the principle component. The endemic species distributed in the desert and semidesert regions of the west of Inner Mongolia. Based on the distribution of the family Tenebrionidae in various vegetation zones, tue region classified into 5 regions: (1) the Alashan Desert Region; (2) the Centro-Inner Mongolia Semidesert Region; (3) Arid-Steppe Region of the East-Inner Mongolia; (4) the Hulun Buir-West Liaoning Region; (5) the Da Xinggan Ling Forest-Steppe Region. And the similarity of faunal composition among the different vegetation zones is interpreted by means of sψrensen's index.
