Abstract
Column chromatographic technique was used for the isolation and purification of the chemical constituents of the ethyl acetate portion and the n-butanol portion from 95%ethanol extract of the branches and leaves of Urena lobata L..Ten flavonoid compounds of Urena lobata L.were identified by means of MS and NMR spectroscopy as:kaempferol(1),rutin(2),quercetin(3),afzelin(4),astragalin(5),tiliroside(6),kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glycopyranoside -7-O-α-L-rhamnoside(7),kaempferol-7-O-α-L-rhamnoside(8),kaempferol-7-O-α-L-rhamnoside-4'-O -β-D-glycopyranoside(9)and crenuloside(10).Among them,compounds 1、4、6、7、8、9、10 were first reported to be isolated from Urena lobata L..
