Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the chemical constituents in Urena lobata L.METHODS The herbal medicine was extracted by different solvents and the constituents were separated by chromatography on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20,MCI gel,and ODS column.Their structures were determined by MS and NMR assay.RESULTS Eleven compounds of Urena lobata L.were isolated and identified as: scopoletin(1),fraxitin(2),caprolactam(3),bis(2-methylproyl) ester(4),6-C-β-L-rhamnosylopigenin(5),6,8-dihydroxy kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glycoside(6),baicalein-7-O-α-L-rhamnoside(7),quercetin-4′-O-α-L-rhamnosyl(1→6)-O-β-D-glycoside(8),benzoic acid(9),esculin(10) and glucosyringic acid(11).CONCLUSION All compounds are isolated from Urena lobata L.for the first time.
