Analysis of Body Mass Index of University

Abstract
The distribution of body mass index of students in Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities was studied by measuring height and weight and calculating body mass index of 1421 college students. The results showed that:ratio of normal weight of male students is lower than that of female students;ratio of low weight of female students is higher than that of male students;ratio of over weight and fat of male students is higher than that of female students. The ratio of normal weight students from city and town is the lowest in all students especially male. The ratios of low weight and over weight of the Han nationality students are all higher than those of other nationalities.The ratios of low weight of Han and Mongolia nationality are higher than those of the other both of male and female students. The ratios of over weight male students and low weight female students are all rising with the grades,and the body mass state of grade four students is relatively poor. The relevant departments of university should take some health education and food intervetion measures in the light of the student body mass state.
