Abstract
The dehydrogenation reaction of butyl alcohol at high temperature and high pressure in the presence of NaOH to from butyric acid in one step was investigated. The optimal reaction conditions were temperature 275℃,pressure 2.5 MPa,mole ratio of NaOH to alcohol 1.2 and reaction time 8 h.Selectivity of the reaction was 100%,and the yield was over 87%.The product purity was high, and the odor was very pure.
