Abstract

OBJECTIVE To study the phenolic acids constituents in Potentilla discolor.METHODS The compounds were isolated by silica gel chromatography, macroporous resins and polyamide column chromatography from the 70% ethanol extract, and their structures were identified by spectroscopy.RESULTS Six compounds were isolated from Potentilla discolor and their structures were identified as 3-methylellagic acid-4′-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside(I),3,3′,4-trimethylellagic acid-4′-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅱ),3,3′-dimethylellagic acid(Ⅲ),gallic acid(Ⅳ),tormentic acid(Ⅴ)and kaempferol-3-O-β-D-6-O-(p-hydroxycinnamoyl)-gluco pyranoside(VI).CONCLUSION The Compounds Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅴ,Ⅵ were isolated from this herb for the first time.
