The Sociology of Scientific Knowledge inherits the thought of relativism from Kuhn's philosophy and develops it thoroughly. The Sociology of Scientific Knowledge takes relativism as the basis of epistemology and explains many anomalies that couldn't be explained in Merton's tradition. But the Sociology of Scientific Knowledge is unable to overcome the theoretical contradiction of relativism. Besides, the theory of the Sociology of Scientific Knowledge is superficial because its research is limited to the field of experience.
