Expression and clinical significance of PTEN and p27 in gastric carcinoma

Objective To probe the expression and clinical significance of PTEN and p27 protein in gastric carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemical SP was used to detect the expression of PTEN and p27 in 56 cases of gastric carcinoma,and the data was analyzed with Chi square test or exact method. Results The positive expression of PTEN and p27 in gastric carcinoma was much lower than that in normal gastric mucous;The positive expression of PTEN was related with lymph node metastasis,TNM stage and cellular differentiation,but it was not related with sex and age;The positive expression of p27 was related with lymph node metastasis,TNM stage and cellular differentiation,but it was not related with sex and age;There was a positive correlation between the p27 expression and PTEN expression. Conclusions The results indicate that the expression of PTEN and p27 has relations with some biological behaviors of gastric carcinoma.PTEN and p27 seem to be related to the carcinogenesis,development invasion,metastasis and prognosis of gastric cancer.
