Abstract

[Objective]To observe the curative effects of recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rhEGF) in wound healing of anal fistula resection.[Methods]109 cases of anal fistula resection were collected from April 2006 to December 2009, 68 cases of the treatment group were treated with rhEGF locally, and 41 cases of the control group were treated by conventional dressing change method. The healing time of the wound and the pain degree of patients were observed.[Results]The healing time of the treatment group was (17.00±1.54) days, local pain was weaker, and the healing rate after three weeks was 97.1%. The healing time of the control group was (20.00±1.16) days, patients felt pain when changing dressing, and the healing rate after three weeks was 87.8%. There were significant difference in healing time and healing rate after three weeks between two groups(P0.01). The difference in the pain index of 4 and 7 days after operation between two groups were significant (P0.01). No adverse reactions were found in two groups.[Conclusion]Local application of rhEGF can accelerate the wound healing, and reduce the pain of patients.
