Abstract
Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of drug-induced liver injury and to improve the understanding of these diseases. Methods The characteristics of 56 cases of drug-induced liver injury during 2001 to 2007 were retrospectively analyzed. Results The antibiotics,non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and herbs are the most common drugs causing liver injury.Acute injury was seen in 50 cases and chronic injury in the remaining 6 cases.29 cases were mainly manifested as hepatic type,15 as cholestatic type and 12 as mixed type. Conclusion Most kinds of drugs can induce liver injury;acute injury is more common than chronic one.The clinical manifestations of liver injury are different, and its occurrence is closely associated with drugs.Early detection and stopping use of related drugs are essential for treatment.
