Abstract

The organic bentonite was prepared by hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB) as modifier. And the effect of addition amount of CTAB,modified bentonite dosage, adsorption time,pH value on removal rates of oil from wastewater was investigated. The influence of amount of CTAB on the structure of bentonite was analyzed by XRD.The experimental results showed that CTAB was intercalated into the layered bentonite, and the interlayer of the bentonite was increased. The removal rates of COD from wastewater can be up to 85.84% under the following conditions: the amount of modifier was 20%,the dosage of organic bentonite was 9 g/L,the adsorption time was 60 min,the pH value was 6,and the adsorption isotherms of organic bentonite for oily wastewater better met the Freundlich adsorption equation.
