Abstract

Traditional Chinese Medicine( TCM) thinks that functional dyspepsia is mainly caused by qi and blood disorders, characterized by excess resulting from deficiency and deficiency-excess interlacing each other. Pathogenesis is in stomach and intestines, but closely associated with liver and spleen. Etiological factors mainly include excessive seven emotions, eating and drinking without temperance, external evil invading, constitutional weakness and etc. Pathogenesis is related with inadequate catharsis of liver and gallbladder, transport and transformation disorder of spleen and stomach,Yin deficiency, dampness and qi stagnation. Among them,qi stagnation and middle-jiao deficiency are key factors. In TCM syndrome differentiation treatment,a good curative effect can be achieved by the combination of Chinese medicine, electrical stimulation and wire-embedding in acupuncture points and so forth. Also, chiropractic therapy is effective in functional dyspepsia by adjusting nerves in front of the spine in brain-gut axis, which results in an impact on the gastrointestinal nerve system.
