Abstract

During Tang and the Five Dynasties,the unsuccessful imperial exam candidates still need QU JIE when they test over again,but,the place was not strictly required and the phenomenon of BA JIE existed.Those candidates enjoyed the privilege of MIAN JIE after several imperial examinations in the Five and Song Dynasties.Studying of the issue of re-examination is the further strength on the question of failing in an imperial examination.
