On the Acceptance of Tao Yuanming by Xie Tiao

During the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the Northern and Southern Dynasties,Tao Yuanming was widely accepted by people as a hermit with good morals. However,his poems were despised because his aesthetic standard differed from that in the literary circle at that time. In spite of this, truly excellent poems will never be buried. Tao Yuanming influenced poets in his unique way, one of whom was the eminent poet Xie Tiao during the Qiliang Period. Xie Tiao did not only accepted Tao Yuanming as a hermit, but as a poet, which was worthy of esteem.
