Relationship Between Survival rate and Complications of Patients with Severe Hepatitis

Objective To investigate the relationship between the survival rate and complications of patients with severe hepatitis.Methods The incidences of different complications in 691 patients with severe hepatitis were analyzed.The relationship between the survival rate and different complications of patients with severe hepatitis were explored.Results Chronic hepatitis B was the predominant etiological factor of hepatitis .Complications were diagnosed in 84.37% severe hepatitis.The rate of infection,hepatic encephalopathy,hemorrhage,hepatorenal syndrome,and brain edema were 78.44%,38.78%,18.38%,17.95%,7.96%,respectively.The survival rate of severe hepatitis patients without complications(99.07%)was significantly highre than that of patients with complications(57.46%,p0.001).More complications in severe hepatitis patients resulted in lower survival rates.Conclusion It is important for improving survival rate of patients with severe hepatitis to prevent and treat different complications early.
