Abstract
The Qing armys war recovering Xinjiang in the 1870s is an anti invasion national war. In this war of upholding state territory sovereignty, the Qing government still functions as the organizer and top commander, and plays an important and positive role in decision making, personnel choice and provision guarantee. This proves that combining national strength to fight against foreign invasion is still the main feature of national politics in this historical period, meanwhile, the integrated consciousness of the Chinese nation is gradually coming into being in modern anti invasion wars.
