Abstract

Micafungin is a new echimocandin which represents antifungal drug class and exhibits broad-spectrum activity.Micafungin acts by inhibiting the production of 1,3-β-D-glucan which is a key component in fungal cell wall synthesis and has selective toxicity to fungi. This paper reviewed the in vitro antifungal activity, pharmacokinetics and drug interactions of micafungin.
