Abstract

Objective To investigate the alteration of sCD40L level in patient with immune thromb cytopenic purpura(ITP) and its possible role in the pathogenesis of ITP.Methods Peripheral blood level of soluble sCD40L and platelet-associated antibody(PAIgG)in 30 untreated and treated ITP patients and 30 normal controls were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The sCD40L levels were significantly higher in those with untreated ITP than that in those with normal controls(P0.05).the sCD40L levels in those with treated ITP were significantly lower than in those with untreated ITP(P0.05),the levels of sCD40L and the platelet counts were negative relation(r=-0.83,P0.05),The PAIgG level was significantly higher in those with sCD40L positive ITP than that in those with sCD40L negative ITP.And the platelet counts were significantly lower in those with sCD40L positive ITP than that in those with sCD40L negative ITP(P0.05).Conclusion The increased level of sCD40L may be the potential reason of ITP.Detection of peripheral blood may be helpful for the diagnosis of ITP and the application of anti-CD40L antibody will probably be a new method for the therapy of ITP.
