Abstract

The paper attempts to make a comprehensiveview of the rural education research in 2004, centering on the following topics: the disparities between the urban and rural education, causes and impacts; integration of urban properties into the rural fundamental education; problems, resolutions and countermeasures, and reforms in management, investment system and new curriculum in the current rural compulsory education.
