Abstract
The matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs) and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases(TIMPs) are important enzymes regulating extracellular matrix(ECM) degradaes.Participate in regulating ECM synthesis and metabolism balance in physiological and pathological condition. In different tissue types of kidney disease and different pathological development stage of the same disease,MMPs/TIMPs can produce different pathogenic mechanism, leading the progress of the disease. For MMPs/TIMPs research will clarify the progression mechanism of chronic kidney disease,to control all sorts of kidney disease provide theoretical basis.
